Year MBBS Course 2006-2007 in Katihar Medical College, Katihar, Bihar and Mata
Gujri Memorial Medical College & L.S.K. Hospital Kishanganj, Bihar. Both
the colleges are recognized by the Medical Council of India and the Govt. of
India.
In view of the convenience of the majority of
appearing candidates the following modification in the schedule has been made

ELIGIBILITY:
The candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a
recognized Board, Council or University and must have obtained at least 50%
marks in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology taken together and must have
passed in English. For candidates belonging to SC/ST or OBC the minimum
qualifying marks is 40%. Candidates appearing at the above said examination may
also apply but their candidature shall be valid only when they obtain minimum
qualifying marks and pass qualifying examination before the date of counseling.
The candidate must attain the minimum
age of 17 years on or before 31st December, 2006.
Application forms and other particulars may be obtained by post through a Bank Draft of Rs.1250/- in favour of “Private Medical Colleges Association, Bihar” payable at “Patna” or on payment of Rs. 1200/- in cash at the sale counters of the Association at Patna, Katihar Medical College, Katihar, Bihar and Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College, Kishanganj, Bihar.

Note : 1. Before applying the candidates must be clear in their minds that admission shall be made subject to out come of writ petition (C) No. 167 of 2005 and writ petition (C) No. 169 of 2005 pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
2. Non Resident Indian are not required to respond to this notice now. A separate admission notice for N R I candidates shall be issued.

1. INTRODUCTION
(i) The combined Entrance Test for admission to Ist year MBBS Course in Katihar Medical College, Katihar and Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College, Kishanganj shall be conducted by the Selection Committee of Private Medical Colleges Association of Bihar pursuant to the direction of the apex court in the case of P.A. Inamdar Case 2005 (6) S.C.C. 537.
(ii) Candidates seeking admission to Ist year MBBS Course, 2006-07 should submit their application in prescribed form enclosed herewith. Candidates shall clearly indicate the following in his/her application.
(a) Choice of institution
(b) Choice of Center: Delhi, Patna, Katihar or Kishanganj
(c) Minority or General Category or NRI
(d) Minority candidates whether he/she is Muslim or Sikh
The application form must be complete in all respects. Incomplete application shall not be considered.
(iii) Following documents/ papers must be annexed to the application.
(a) Photocopy of Marks Sheet of 10+2/I.Sc. or equivalent Examination. Candidates appearing at 10+2 examination should clearly mention that he/she is an appearing candidate. In case of selection, he/she will have to produce the necessary document at the time of counseling.
(b) Photocopy of the documentary evidence of the date of birth (Class-X certificates).
(c) Candidates shall submit application with five passport size photographs taken recently (within last 2 months) with their name slip on their chest and both ears clearly visible. Application with hazy photographs shall be rejected summarily. One photograph is to be pasted on 1st page of the application and other two photograph are to be pasted on the admit card form. Each photograph is to be duly attested by the Principal where the candidate studied last or by a gazetted officer. The signature of the candidate on admit card form are required to be attested by the attesting officer who attests the photograph. Two other photographs are to be clipped along with the application form (do not staple or pin).
(d) Medical certificate of fitness by a civil assistant surgeon or a registered medical practitioner on the prescribed proforma in the application form.
(e) Identification mark in the admit card form is to be entered by a medical officer.
(f) The admit card form (supplied with the brochure) completely filled in with two photographs pasted on appropriate place and properly attested.
(g) The white envelop (supplied with the brochure) with the correspondence address of the candidate written on it.
(h) Candidates belonging to Schedule Castes/Schedule Tribes or Other Backward Classes must submit their caste certificate from a competent authority (e.g. District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate etc).
(i) Candidate shall enclose the photocopy of the money receipt of the purchase of the brochure and form etc along with the application.
(iv) Note:
(a) Write your full name exactly as given in your Secondary School Certificate at appropriate place. e.g. a candidate’s name should be written in the boxes as given below:

(b) Other entries in boxes should be entered as above leaving one box blank between two words.
(c) No application will be considered unless it is properly filled up. In case, if any false information is furnished or any information is suppressed, the admission will be cancelled at any stage and fees paid shall be forfeited.
2. SELECTION
PROCESS:

EXAMINATION
(i) A combined written test for all the seats reserved for minority ( Muslim and Sikh) and general candidates in both the colleges shall be held on 27th May 2006 at Patna, Katihar (at Katihar Medical College), Kishanganj (at Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College) and New Delhi (at Mata Sundri College for Women, Kotla Road, New Delhi). Result of the combined written entrance test will be published on 10th June 2006. Candidates short-listed on the basis of written examination in accordance with the merit list shall have to appear at the 1st round of counseling during the period of 3rd to 6th July’ 2006. A second round of counseling may be held from 20th to 25th August, 2006 for wait listed candidates provided there are seats vacant after the first round of counseling. The schedule of dates is given below and shall be adhered to strictly as per direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. There may be change in the number of allotment of seats available for different categories of students as per direction of the Hon’ble Supreme court or the competent authority for this purpose. Separate merit list shall be prepared for N R I candidates.

(a) The standard of Entrance Examination shall be of the level of qualifying examination (CBSE syllabus).
(b) Pattern of questions for written examination will be of multiple-choice type. Against each question there shall be four different answers numbered as A, B, C and D out of which one will be the most appropriate which is to be indicated on the answer sheet in the empty box under the serial of question.
(ii) Note: Request for re-evaluation of answer sheet shall not be entertained.
(iii) Names of the
examination centers and other details will be communicated to the candidates
along with admit cards for the written test. In case a candidate does not
receive admit card he is advised to contact the Superintendent of the
Examination Center of his choice mentioned in his application form personally
during the working the working hours one day before the day of written
examination. Candidates appearing from Patna and who do not receive their admit
cards are requested to report in the office of the Association at Samanpura,
Raja Bazar, Bailey road, Patna – 800 014 one day before the examination
3. FEE STRUCTURTE:
(i) The existing fee structure is to be revised from the academic session 2006-07 approval of which is pending before the committee constituted by the State Govt. After its approval the fee structure for session 2006-07 shall be announced with the result of the combined entrance test. For Non Resident Indian students annual tuition fee will be $16000 (US) per annum.
(ii) The selected and admitted students shall be required to deposit the annual tuition fee through Bank Draft in favour of the college each year before the end of the month of July failing which he/she shall not be allowed to appear at the university examination.
(iii) A candidate once admitted in the college shall not be allowed to leave the college without paying the full tuition fee for the remaining period of the MBBS Course.
(iv) At the time of the admission while paying the tuition fee for 1st year through Bank Draft, the candidate shall also have to furnish Bank Guarantee/Bond for payment of tuition fee for the remaining period of MBBS Course.
(v) The fee structure to be prescribed for session 2006-07 shall be revised after three academic sessions depending on the budgetary needs of the institution and general national economic parameters and in that event the new revised fee structure shall be payable by all the students.
(vi) The management may grant partial free studentship maximum to the extent of 9 meritorious and economically weak students.
(vii) Details of programme and instructions shall be issued with the admit card.

(viii) The selection committee shall not be responsible for any delay in postal transit or non-receipt of application form and admit card or any other communication relating to admission.
